Ana Rosa's Early Life and Career
Growing Up in Madrid
Ana Rosa was born and grew up in Usera, a neighborhood in Madrid, Spain. Her parents were José Antonio Quintana and Carmen Hortal Prados. She has an older brother named Enrique.
Starting in Radio
She began her career in radio at RNE. She then moved to Radio Internacional. There, she was part of a group of female presenters known as the "chicas de la Inter."
Moving to Television
In 1982, Ana Rosa started working in television. She hosted the primetime news show Telediario with Alberto Delgado. Later, she moved to New York with her husband, Alfonso Rojo. She worked there as a reporter for Cadena COPE radio and Tiempo de Hoy magazine. She had a son, Álvaro, in 1986.
Returning to Spain
After she and Alfonso Rojo separated in 1987, Ana Rosa returned to Spain. She directed and presented the show Las tardes de RCE on Radiocadena Española. Sabor a ti and Production Company
In 1998, she started hosting the daytime magazine show Sabor a ti. It was meant to be a short summer show, but it became very popular. Sabor a ti ran for six years, making Ana Rosa one of Antena 3's most famous faces.
In December 2000, Ana Rosa and her son Enrique started their own production company, Cuarzo Producciones. From 2001, Cuarzo Producciones took over making Sabor a ti. El programa de Ana Rosa
In 2004, Antena 3 decided not to continue Sabor a ti. In September of that year, it was announced that Ana Rosa would return to Telecinco. She would launch a new show to compete with María Teresa Campos's program Cada día.
Her new show, El programa de Ana Rosa, started on January 18, 2005. It quickly became the most-watched show in its time slot on Telecinco. Cada día was canceled after only one year. El programa de Ana Rosa remained the top-rated show for eighteen years.
Recent Shows and Changes
On June 19, 2014, Ana Rosa helped lead Telecinco's coverage of Felipe VI becoming the new king of Spain. In 2017, her company Cuarzo Producciones was sold. In 2019, she hosted the first season of Telecinco's show Mujeres al poder.
In 2023, El programa de Ana Rosa ended due to changes in the TV schedule. Ana Rosa then moved to host a new show in the late afternoon called TardeAR. She hoped this new show would be "the best news show on TV in Spain." However, it did not perform as well as expected against other shows. Because of this, Telecinco announced that El programa de Ana Rosa would return in February 2025.

Personal Life
Ana Rosa has three sons. Her first son, Álvaro, was born in 1986 with her former husband, Alfonso Rojo. In 2004, when she was 48 years old, she had twin sons, Juan and Jaime. Their father is her current husband, Juan Muñoz. In 2021, she shared that she had breast cancer and took a break from television to focus on her health.
