Anacithara janjukiensis was a type of sea snail that lived a long, long time ago. It's now extinct, meaning it doesn't exist anymore. This tiny creature was a mollusk, part of a group called gastropods, which includes snails and slugs. It belonged to the family called Horaiclavidae.

What Did It Look Like?

The shell of Anacithara janjukiensis was quite small. It was about 8 millimeters (mm) long. That's less than half an inch! Its widest part, or diameter, was about 3.5 mm.

Where Did It Live?

This ancient sea snail lived in the ocean near Tasmania. Tasmania is a large island south of Australia. It lived during a time called the Lower Miocene period. This period was many millions of years ago, long before humans existed.
