Early Life and Learning Music
Analia Llugdar was born in Argentina. She loved music from a young age. In 1999, she earned a special degree in piano performance from the National University of Córdoba. This means she became a very skilled piano player.
After that, Analia moved to Canada to study music even more. She first went to Laval University in Quebec City. Soon, she moved to the Université de Montréal. There, she earned two advanced degrees in music composition. This means she learned how to create her own music. Some of her teachers were famous composers like José Evangelista and Denis Gougeon.
Awards and Musical Works
Analia Llugdar has won many big awards for her music. She won first prize in a national competition for young composers. This was for her chamber music, which is music for a small group of instruments. She also received the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada Award. This award helps young musicians. She also won the Grand Prix from the Canada Council for the Arts, which is a very important award for artists in Canada.
In 2008, Analia won the Jules Léger Prize for New Chamber Music. This was for her piece called "Que sommes-nous." Another one of her compositions, "Tricycle," was played by a group called Trio Fibonacci. They even put it on their album 5 x 3 in 2009.
In 2010, Analia received a grant of $15,000 from the Canada Council. This money helped her continue creating music. That same year, her composition "La Machi" was performed for the very first time in Montreal.
In 2015, Analia created music inspired by a poem. The poem was "Romance de la luna, luna" by Frederico Garcia Lorca. A singer named Kristina Szabó performed this new piece. It was part of the Soundstreams music series in Toronto.
