Anders Björler's Music Journey
Playing Guitar with At the Gates
Anders Björler helped start the band At the Gates in 1990. He formed it with his twin brother Jonas Björler, Tomas Lindberg, Alf Svensson, and Adrian Erlandsson. This band plays a style of music called melodic death metal.
In 1996, after touring for their album Slaughter of the Soul, Anders left the band. At the Gates then broke up.
The band got back together in 2007 for some special shows. They played at big music festivals in Europe and toured in the US, Japan, and Sweden. They reunited again in 2011 to play more concerts. In 2014, they released a new album called At War with Reality. Anders left the band again in 2017. However, in late 2022, he rejoined At the Gates as a guitarist.
His Time with The Haunted
In 1996, a few months after At the Gates split up, Anders joined another band called The Haunted. He was the lead guitarist for this band.
He stayed with The Haunted until 2001. At that time, he decided to go to university to study film. Anders returned to The Haunted in 2002. He played with them until October 2012, when he left the band again.
Solo Music Project
Since 2013, Anders Björler has been making his own instrumental music. His first solo album, 'Antikythera', came out in November 2013. It was released by Anders Fridén from the band In Flames.
This album shows Anders's love for old Italian movie soundtracks. It also includes sounds from English progressive rock, jazz, and Swedish folk music.
