Andreas "Andi" Knoll was born on June 11, 1972, in Innsbruck, Austria. He is a famous Austrian radio and television presenter. Many people know him best as the voice of the Eurovision Song Contest for Austria. He has been doing this job since 1999.

Andi Knoll and Eurovision

Andi Knoll has a long history with the Eurovision Song Contest. Since the 1999 contest, he has been the official Austrian commentator. This means he describes the show and explains what's happening to viewers in Austria. He took over this role from another well-known journalist, Ernst Grissemann.

Andi Knoll has commentated on almost every Eurovision contest since 1999. The only year he didn't was in 2009. He has also hosted the Austrian national finals for Eurovision since 2002. These are shows where Austria chooses its song and performer for the big contest. He even commentated for Austria in the Eurovision Dance Contest, which was a similar competition but for dancing.

After Austria won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, many people thought Andi Knoll might host the next contest in 2015. The winner, Conchita Wurst, and another Austrian TV personality, Kati Bellowitsch, were also considered. However, the Austrian TV channel, ORF, decided not to choose him as a main host. Instead, he continued his important job as the commentator. Conchita Wurst ended up hosting the "green room," where the performers wait during the show.
