André Lafargue (born July 2, 1917 – died July 18, 2017) was a French journalist and a theatre critic. A journalist is someone who collects and writes news for newspapers, magazines, or TV. A theatre critic writes reviews about plays and performances.
André Lafargue lived to be 100 years old! He passed away in July 2017, just two weeks after his 100th birthday.
André Lafargue's Career
André Lafargue started his writing career in 1947. He first wrote for a newspaper called Paris-Matin. This newspaper later changed its name to Ce matin, le pays.
Just one year later, in 1948, he joined another newspaper. This was the Parisien libéré, which is now known as Le Parisien. He worked there for many years.
In the 1970s, André Lafargue helped create the theatre review section for Le Parisien. He wrote about many plays and shows. He continued to work as a journalist and critic until he retired in 1987.
A Long Life
André Lafargue lived a very long life. He passed away in Paris, France, on July 18, 2017. He was 100 years old when he died.
