Since 2015, a large company called LVMH has owned Le Parisien. This company belongs to French billionaire Bernard Arnault.

The Story of Le Parisien Newspaper
The newspaper first started in 1944. Its original name was Le Parisien libéré, meaning "The Freed Parisian". Émilien Amaury founded it on August 22, 1944.
How Le Parisien Began
Le Parisien libéré was created during World War II. At that time, France was occupied by Germany. The newspaper was a voice for the French Underground Resistance. This group secretly fought against the occupation.
Name Change and National Edition
The newspaper changed its name to Le Parisien in 1986. Today, there is also a national version of the paper. It is called Aujourd'hui en France, which means "Today in France".
New Ownership for Le Parisien
In 2015, the newspaper got a new owner. The company LVMH bought Le Parisien. Before that, it was owned by Éditions Philippe Amaury.
