Andrés Cepeda Cediel was born on July 7, 1973. He is a very popular singer and songwriter from Colombia. Andrés was born in Bogotá and was the youngest of five children.
He loved music from a very young age. He started learning piano when he was just 5 years old. By the time he was 12, he had already written his first song! He went to school at Colegio San Carlos and later at Colegio Emilio Valenzuela.
Andrés started his music journey as the lead singer of a band called Poligamia. He formed this latin rock-pop group with his friends when he was a teenager.
After Poligamia broke up, Andrés Cepeda continued making music on his own. He became very successful in different music styles, like bolero and ballads, which are often romantic songs. His album El carpintero sold so well in Colombia that it reached quadruple-platinum status! This means it sold a huge number of copies.
