Andrés Neuman (born January 28, 1977) is a talented Argentine writer, poet, translator, columnist, and blogger. He is known for his interesting novels, poems, and stories.

Early Life and Education

Andrés Neuman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His parents were musicians who moved from Argentina to Granada, Spain, when he was a child. He grew up hearing stories about his family's travels and history. Andrés studied Spanish literature at the University of Granada, where he also taught about Latin American literature. He has citizenship in both Argentina and Spain.

Career Highlights

Andrés Neuman is recognized as one of the best young writers from Latin America. He was chosen for the "Bogotá39" list by the Hay Festival and also by Granta magazine as one of the top young Spanish-language novelists.

His fourth novel, Traveller of the Century, was the first of his books to be published in English. It was named one of the best books of the year by The Guardian and Financial Times. This novel was also a finalist for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize and the International Dublin Literary Award.

His next novel translated into English was Talking to Ourselves. The New York Times called it a "contemporary family drama and unflinching story of grief." It was a finalist for the Best Translated Book Award and the Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize.

His collection of short stories, The Things We Don't Do, was also a finalist for the Best Translated Book Award. It won the CLMP Firecracker Award for fiction. Andrés Neuman also wrote a travel book about Latin America called How to Travel without Seeing: Dispatches from the New Latin America.

His recent novel, Fracture, explores love and human relationships. The New Yorker said it was "filled with insights into cross-cultural intimacies." This book was a finalist for several awards in Spain and Italy. It was also chosen as one of the best novels of the year by major Spanish newspapers like El Mundo and El País.

Other books translated into English include his first novel, Bariloche, and a collection of his poems called Love Training. His family novel, Once Upon Argentina, tells his personal and family history. His book Sensitive Anatomy challenges common ideas about bodies.
