Club Career
Andraž Šporar has played for many different football clubs throughout his career. He started playing professionally in Slovenia before moving to bigger leagues in Europe.
Olimpija Ljubljana
In June 2012, Šporar joined Olimpija Ljubljana. He quickly became an important player for the team. In the 2015–16 season, he was even chosen as the team's captain. During the first half of that season, he scored an amazing 17 goals in just 18 games!
Basel
On December 8, 2015, Šporar signed a contract with Basel, a big club in Switzerland. He joined their first team for the 2015–16 season. He made his debut in February 2016. Sadly, he got injured during a warm-up shortly after, which kept him from playing for the rest of that season.
Even with his injury, his team won the Swiss Super League championship that year. He scored his first goal for Basel in April 2017. At the end of the 2016–17 season, he won the championship again. Basel also won the Swiss Cup that year, making it a very successful time for the club.
Arminia Bielefeld (loan)
In June 2017, Šporar went on loan to Arminia Bielefeld, a team in Germany, for one season. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team.
Slovan Bratislava
Šporar moved to Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia in January 2018. In his first season there, he helped them win the Slovak Cup. The next season, 2018–19, was fantastic for him. Slovan Bratislava won the league title, and Šporar became the top scorer in the league with 29 goals! This tied the record for the most goals scored in a single season in that league.
Sporting CP
On January 23, 2020, Šporar transferred to Sporting CP, a famous club in Portugal. He signed a five-year contract. This transfer was a big deal because he became the most expensive player ever sold from the Slovak Super Liga.
Braga (loan)
In February 2021, Šporar went on loan again, this time to Braga, another Portuguese club.
Middlesbrough (loan)
Later, in August 2021, he joined the English team Middlesbrough on loan. He scored his first goal for them in September 2021.

On September 7, 2023, Šporar scored two goals against Northern Ireland. This was a special moment because it meant he had scored 10 goals for his national team, making him one of only ten players in Slovenia's history to reach this milestone.
In June 2024, Šporar was chosen to be part of the Slovenian team for UEFA Euro 2024. This was his first major international tournament, a big achievement for any footballer.
