Andrea Antonelli was an Italian motorcycle racer. He was born on January 17, 1988, in Castiglione del Lago, Italy. Sadly, he passed away on July 21, 2013. He died in an accident while racing his Kawasaki motorcycle at the Moscow Raceway in Russia. At the time, he was competing in the Supersport World Championship for Team Go Eleven.

Andrea Antonelli's Racing Journey
Andrea Antonelli started his racing career in Italy. He competed in the Italian 125cc Championship. He became the second youngest person ever to win a race in that series. Only Marco Melandri was younger when he won.
In 2005, Andrea moved to the European Superstock 600 Championship. He did very well there. In 2007, he finished as the runner-up, just behind Maxime Berger.
Next, Andrea stepped up to the FIM Superstock 1000 Championship. He raced for the Lorini Honda team for four seasons. His best result in this championship was finishing 4th overall in 2010.
Supersport World Championship Races
Andrea and the Lorini team then moved to the Supersport World Championship in 2012. During that season, he switched teams. He left Lorini Honda to join Bike Service Yamaha. He finished the 2012 season in 10th place overall.
For the 2013 season, Andrea joined Team Go Eleven Kawasaki. Both he and his new team achieved their best results early in the season. This included a strong fourth-place finish at Motorland Aragón. He also started from fourth place on the grid at the Moscow Raceway.
Andrea Antonelli's Passing
Andrea Antonelli died during a race on July 21, 2013. The accident happened at the Moscow Raceway in Russia. It was raining during the 2013 Supersport World Championship season race.
Andrea fell off his motorcycle on a straight part of the track. Another Italian rider, Lorenzo Zanetti, accidentally hit him. Andrea suffered serious head injuries. He later passed away from these injuries. Because of this sad accident, all the other races planned for that weekend were cancelled.
