Life of Andrea Veggio

Andrea Veggio was born in a town called Manerba del Garda in Italy. He decided to dedicate his life to the church from a young age.

Becoming a Priest

He became a priest on June 29, 1947. This was a very important step in his religious journey. As a priest, he served his community and helped people.

Becoming a Bishop

Later, on August 1, 1983, Andrea Veggio was chosen for a special role. He became an auxiliary bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Verona. An auxiliary bishop helps the main bishop of a diocese. He was also named a titular bishop of Velia. This means he held a special title linked to an older, historical church area.

He officially became a bishop on September 8, 1983. He continued his work helping lead the church in the Verona area.

Retirement and Later Years

Andrea Veggio retired from his duties in the Diocese of Verona on September 8, 2001. He had served the church for many years. He passed away on June 6, 2020, in Negrar, Italy. He was living in a special home for clergy members called the “Casa del Clero.”
