Andreea Ioana Esca Eram, born on August 29, 1972, is a well-known Romanian television journalist. She is famous for being a news anchor at Pro TV, where she has worked since December 1995. Many people in Romania know her face and voice from the news.
Besides her TV work, Andreea also hosts a radio show called "La radio" on Radio Europa FM. She is married to Alexandre Eram, and they have two children named Alexia and Aris.
Andreea finished journalism school in 1990. She even studied at CNN for a while. She has been a news presenter at PRO TV since the channel first started, which means she has been on air for nearly 30 years! In 2002, she won a special award called "Woman of the Year" from the National Audiovisual Council. Since 2006, she has also been the main editor for "The One" magazine. Andreea also traveled to learn more about journalism. She studied at the Center of Independent Journalism in Prague. She also gained experience at CNN in Atlanta, USA, and in Athens, Greece.
Her Career in TV
Andreea Esca is most known for her work with Pro TV, a Romanian television network. She started her career there on December 1, 1995. She was the very first person to announce the start of the channel's programs.
Before joining Pro TV, Andreea began her journalism journey at a channel called SOTI in the early 1990s. She has almost always presented the main news show, Știrile ProTV, at 7:00 PM. She only took breaks for things like maternity leave or vacations.
Andreea has stayed with the same TV channel for many years, which is quite special in journalism. She got her first TV job in January 1992. A friend was going for an interview to be a presenter at SOTI, and Andreea decided to try too. She did very well and was offered the job as a TV anchor.
Awards and Recognition
Andreea Esca has received several honors for her long and successful career. In September 2018, she was given a special French award. The French ambassador in Romania, Michèle Ramis, presented her with the insignia of a Knight in the National Order of Merit. This award recognized her important contributions to journalism.
