Andrew "Andy" Ellis (born February 21, 1984) is a famous New Zealand rugby union player. He is known for playing as a scrum-half. Currently, he plays for Rugby United New York (RUNY) in Major League Rugby (MLR).
Before joining RUNY, Andy played for the Kobelco Steelers in Japan. He also played for the Crusaders in Super Rugby and Canterbury in New Zealand's provincial rugby.

Rugby Career Highlights
Andy Ellis started his rugby journey early. In 2005, he played for the New Zealand under-21 team.
Playing for the Crusaders
His first year in Super Rugby was in 2006 with the Crusaders. He quickly became a key player, even taking the starting spot from another experienced player. He helped the Crusaders reach the final, but he couldn't play due to a knee injury.
Becoming an All Black
Andy Ellis made his debut for the All Blacks in 2006 against England. This was a big achievement for him. He was also chosen for the 2007 Rugby World Cup team.
After the 2011 Rugby World Cup, Andy wasn't selected for the All Blacks for a few years. But he made a comeback in 2015, playing against Samoa.

Andy is the oldest of three children. His parents are Sue and Greg Ellis. He has two siblings, a sister named Amanda and a brother named Simon.
In 2007, Andy married his wife, Emma Bainbridge. They had been together for seven years before getting married. In December 2009, they welcomed their daughter, Scarlett.
Beyond Rugby
In 2018, Andy Ellis helped launch a new project called Gravity satellite internet. This project aims to provide internet access to people in rural parts of New Zealand who might not have traditional broadband.
