Andrzej Mateusz Ornoch (born August 21, 1985) is a former professional soccer player. He now works as the head coach for The Borough FC in the League1 Ontario Championship. Andrew was born in Poland and later played for Canada's national soccer team.

Early Life and Youth Soccer

Andrew Ornoch was born in Poland. When he was three years old, he moved to Toronto, Canada, with his parents. He started playing youth soccer with a team called North Scarborough SC. Later, he also played for Erin Mills SC.

College Soccer Star

In 2003, Andrew began attending the University of Detroit Mercy. There, he played soccer for the men's soccer team. He was a very successful player in college.

In 2005, he was named Player of the Year. He also won the Offensive Player of the Year award. Andrew was chosen for the All-Horizon League First Team. During his three years with the team, he scored 26 goals in 59 games.

Playing Professional Soccer

Starting in Canada

Andrew Ornoch began his senior soccer career in 2002. He briefly played for the Mississauga Olympians in the Canadian Soccer League. This was his first step into professional soccer.

Playing in Europe

In May 2006, Andrew signed with a Hungarian club called Lombard Papa FC. He decided to play professionally instead of finishing his last year of college soccer.

In January 2008, he joined the Danish club Esbjerg. He signed a contract to play with them for four years.

In August 2009, Andrew moved to the Netherlands. He signed with the Dutch team Heracles Almelo for one year. He played one game for them against VVV-Venlo. However, he left the club in March 2010.

Later in August 2010, after a tryout, he joined another Dutch club, BV Veendam. He started as an amateur player, hoping to earn a full contract with the team.

Return to Canada and Later Career

In January 2011, there were reports that Andrew ended his contract with his Dutch club. He was expected to join the Canadian Major League Soccer team Toronto FC, but a contract was not signed.

In March 2011, he had a tryout with Toronto FC during their pre-season. After that, he joined the Mississauga Eagles FC in the Canadian Soccer League.

In July 2011, Andrew signed with SC Telstar in the Dutch Eerste Divisie. He played his first game for them on August 4, 2011, against the Go Ahead Eagles. Soon after, he got injured.

In November 2012, more than a year after his injury, he started training with Telstar again. His contract had ended, but he was still working to get back on the field.

In 2014, Andrew played for Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario.

Playing for Canada

Andrew Ornoch also played for his country. He made his first appearance for the Canada national team on November 12, 2006. This was in a friendly game against Hungary.

He also played for the Canada U23 team. He was part of the team that played in the 2008 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying tournament.

Life After Playing Soccer

In 2011, Andrew Ornoch started a soccer club called Dutch Connections FC. He founded it in his hometown of Scarborough with his former teammate Jörg van Nieuwenhuijzen.

Andrew has special coaching licenses, including a National ‘B’ Coaching license. He is also working to get his National 'A' Coaching License.

In 2024, he became the head coach of The Borough FC. This team was formed by Dutch Connections and plays in League2 Ontario. Andrew was named the Central Division Coach of the Year for his great work.
