Andrew Jacob Vasquez is a talented Native American flute player. He is a member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma. Andrew has released four albums, including Vasquez, the award-winning Wind River, V3: An American Indian, and Togo. All his albums were released by Makoché Records.
Andrew Vasquez's Life
Andrew Vasquez is from the Kiowa Apache tribe. He started his entertainment career as a dancer. From 1986 to 1991, he was a solo Northern Style Traditional dancer. He performed with the New York-based American Indian Dance Theater.
While touring with the dance theater, Andrew traded for his first flute. He became very interested in the instrument. Soon, he started playing the flute and creating his own songs.
Andrew was nominated for Native American Music Awards (often called NAMMYs) in 1998 and 1999. In 2000, he won the NAMMY for Best Male Artist. In 2006, he was nominated for Flutist of the Year.
Andrew Vasquez lives near Fort Washakie, Wyoming. He lives there with his wife, Myra, and their family. They have four children and two grandchildren.

Andrew Vasquez has received many awards for his music and dancing:
- He has won various titles at pow-wows and dance competitions.
- His album Wind River won Best Contemporary Native American Album of the Year in 1998. It also won Best Album Cover at the NAV Music Awards that year.
