Andrew Waterworth, born on April 11, 1986, is a former football player from Northern Ireland. He played as a forward, which means he was usually trying to score goals. Andrew also worked as a temporary manager for the Northern Ireland women's national football team.

Andrew Waterworth played for several football clubs during his career. He was known for scoring many goals.

Playing for Hamilton Academical

In January 2008, Andrew joined Hamilton Academical from Lisburn Distillery. He started playing for Hamilton in February, in a game against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup.

He scored his first goal for Hamilton in April 2008 against Dundee. After playing only 10 games in eight months, he returned to Northern Ireland.

Time with Glentoran

After leaving Hamilton, Andrew joined Glentoran, a team in the Irish Premiership. While playing for Glentoran, he helped his team win two important trophies: the Irish Premiership and the Irish Cup.

On May 9, 2013, Glentoran announced that Andrew would not be signing a new contract with them.

Joining Linfield

In May 2013, Linfield confirmed that Andrew Waterworth had signed a two-year contract with their club. In his very first game for Linfield, he unfortunately broke a bone in his leg. This injury kept him from playing for two months.

However, Andrew made a great comeback. On September 14, 2013, he played his first league game for Linfield. He scored three goals in that game, helping his team win 4–1 against Ballymena United. He continued to score, getting 11 goals in his first eleven league games. This helped Linfield reach the top of the league table. Andrew won his first trophy with Linfield, the 2013–14 County Antrim Shield, after a penalty shootout victory.

Playing for Glenavon

On May 30, 2021, it was announced that Andrew Waterworth had signed with Glenavon. He joined them after his contract with Linfield ended. Andrew played his first game for Glenavon as a substitute in a 1–1 draw against Portadown.

A week later, he scored his first goals for Glenavon. He scored two goals in a big 6–1 win against Warrenpoint Town. On July 2, 2022, Andrew Waterworth announced that he was retiring from playing football.

International Football Career

Andrew Waterworth also played for his country. In January 2008, he was chosen to play for the Northern Ireland under-21 team. He played in seven games for the under-21 team and scored two goals.

Managerial Role

After retiring as a player, Andrew Waterworth took on a new role. On March 16, 2023, it was announced that he would be the temporary manager for the Northern Ireland women's national team. He managed the team in one game, a 4–1 loss against Wales on April 6, 2023.
