Andrine's Club Football Journey
Early Years and First Teams
Andrine grew up in Sunndal Municipality in Norway. She played football for Sunndal Fotball with her younger sister, Ada. In 2007, their family moved to Kolbotn. There, both sisters joined the youth teams of Kolbotn IL.
In 2009, when Andrine was 16, she joined Kolbotn's main team. She made her first professional appearance in the Toppserien league on September 27, 2009. Andrine and Ada were seen as two of Norway's most promising young footballers. In July 2011, Andrine even won the Talent of the Month award. After three years with Kolbotn, where she helped the team win bronze medals in 2010 and 2011, she and Ada moved to Stabæk for the 2012 season. With Stabæk, Andrine won a silver medal in the Toppserien league and a gold medal in the Norwegian Cup.
Playing in Germany and Sweden
In January 2013, Andrine and her sister moved to Germany to play for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam. Andrine played her first game for Potsdam on March 3, 2013, in a cup semifinal. She also made her Bundesliga league debut on March 24, 2013. She played four games for Potsdam, and the team finished second in both the league and the cup that season.
In the summer of 2013, Andrine signed with a Swedish team called Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in the Damallsvenskan league. She made her debut for Göteborg on August 18.
Time in England and France
On June 15, 2016, Andrine joined the English club Birmingham City in the FA WSL league.
In January 2018, it was announced that Andrine was moving to Paris Saint-Germain ("PSG") in France. She played for PSG until 2019. In May 2019, she decided to leave PSG when her contract ended.
Adventures in Italy and Return to Sweden
In July 2019, Andrine signed with the Italian team Roma in the Serie A league. She said she loved Roma's team colors and their famous player, Francesco Totti. Andrine played her first game for Roma on September 15, 2019. Just one week later, she scored her first goal for the club in a 2–0 win.
Andrine scored four league goals for Roma in the 2019-20 season. She also scored in the Coppa Italia cup. Sadly, her second season with Roma was cut short. In January 2021, she got a serious knee injury during training. Even so, she received a Coppa Italia winner's medal in May 2021 after her team beat AC Milan in the final.
After her time in Italy, Andrine returned to Sweden in 2022 to play for BK Häcken again. She then joined SK Brann in Norway in 2023, where she played until 2024.
Andrine's International Career
Andrine Hegerberg played for Norway's national football teams at different age levels. In 2009, she was part of the Norwegian team that finished fourth in the U-17 European Championship. Two years later, her team reached the final of the 2011 UEFA Women's U-19 Championship in Italy.
Andrine also played for Norway in the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. In that tournament, she and her sister each scored a goal, helping Norway reach the quarterfinal. On January 17, 2012, Andrine played her first game for the senior national team. She scored her first goal for the senior team on September 15, 2016.
Andrine's Playing Style
Andrine Hegerberg was known as a "box-to-box" midfielder. This means she helped her team all over the field, from their own goal area to the opponent's goal area. She was good at moving without the ball to find open spaces. She helped her team build up attacks from the back and also made well-timed runs into the opponent's penalty area to create scoring chances. Her skill also made her a player who could score goals herself.
