André Cartier (born December 24, 1945 – died May 22, 2020) was a Canadian actor. He was best known for playing the character André in the popular children's TV show Passe-Partout.

André Cartier was born on December 24, 1945. When he was a child, he acted in a musical called Les posters. This show was presented at the Théâtre du Rideau Vert.
Later in his life, André Cartier also became a writer. In 1997, he published a novel called Pays-Perdu.
André Cartier cared a lot about the environment. In 1988, he started an environmental group. It was called Vers un Idéal Écologique. This group worked with people in Contrecœur. They helped everyone learn how to live in a more eco-friendly way.
André Cartier passed away on May 22, 2020. He was 74 years old.
