Andrew "Andy" Whyment, born on April 2, 1981, is a famous English actor. He is most recognized for his roles as Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC comedy show The Royle Family and as Kirk Sutherland in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street.

Andy Whyment's Acting Journey
Andy Whyment learned acting at the Laine Johnson Theatre School in Salford, England. His first acting part was in a TV series called Cracker in 1993. He also had small roles in other popular shows like The Cops, Heartbeat, and Where the Heart Is.
Becoming a TV Star
From 1999 to 2000, Andy played Darren Sinclair-Jones in the funny BBC show The Royle Family. This role helped him become well-known. Since the year 2000, he has been playing the character of Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street. He is still a part of the show today, which means he has been playing Kirk for over 20 years!
Andy on Reality TV Shows
Andy Whyment has also appeared on several reality TV shows. In 2006, he was a contestant on Soapstar Superstar, a singing competition for actors from soap operas. In 2010, he even tried out for The X Factor in Manchester, singing a popular song by Kings of Leon.
He also showed off his ice-skating skills in 2012 on Dancing on Ice. He teamed up with professional skater Vicky Ogden for the competition.
Adventures in the Jungle
In 2019, Andy took part in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, a show where celebrities live in a jungle camp. He did very well and finished in second place! He returned to the jungle for I'm a Celebrity... South Africa in 2023.

Andy Whyment is married to his wife, Nichola. They got married in 2007. They have two children together, a son named Thomas and a daughter named Hollie.
