Andrew Whyment, born on April 2, 1981, is an English actor. He is famous for playing Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC show The Royle Family. He is also well-known for his role as Kirk Sutherland in the long-running TV series Coronation Street.

Andy Whyment's Acting Career
Andy Whyment learned acting at the Laine Johnson Theatre School in Salford. His first TV role was in a show called Cracker in 1993. He also had small parts in other popular shows like The Cops, Heartbeat, and Where the Heart Is.
Becoming a TV Star
From 1999 to 2000, Andy played Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC comedy The Royle Family. This role helped him become more recognized. Since the year 2000, he has been a main character in Coronation Street, playing Kirk Sutherland. This role has made him a very familiar face on British television.
Reality TV Appearances
Andy has also taken part in several reality TV shows. In 2006, he was a contestant on Soapstar Superstar, an ITV singing competition for actors. In 2010, he even auditioned for The X Factor.
He also showed off his skating skills in the 2012 series of Dancing on Ice. He was paired with professional skater Vicky Ogden.
In 2019, Andy joined the cast of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He did very well and finished in second place. He returned to the jungle in 2023 for I'm a Celebrity... South Africa.
Personal Life
Andy Whyment married his wife, Nichola, in 2007. They have two children together, a son named Thomas and a daughter named Hollie.
