Anesthesiologist facts for kids
An anesthesiologist (also anaesthesiologist) is a doctor of medicine.An anesthesiologist (American English) or anaesthetist (British English) is a physician trained in anesthesia and perioperative medicine. Terminology varies between countries. The main jobs of an anesthesiologist are:
- Providing anesthesia to a patient undergoing surgery
- Intensive care medicine
- Medical emergency medicine
- Palliative care
The first anesthesiologist was John Snow (1813–1858).
