Angela Bettis became well-known after playing Janet Webber in the drama film Girl, Interrupted in 1999. She also received praise for her roles as Carrietta White in the TV movie Carrie (2002) and the main character in the psychological horror film May (2002). For her work in May, she won several awards, including the Brussels International Festival Award for Best Actress. Later, she starred as Belle Cleek in the horror film The Woman (2011) and Mandy in the comedy film 12 Hour Shift (2020). For 12 Hour Shift, she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Award.
Besides her film work, Angela Bettis has also performed in two Broadway plays. She was in The Father in 1996 and played Abigail Williams in The Crucible in 2002.

Angela Bettis was born in Austin, Texas. She went to Westlake High School there. Her parents are Richard Joseph Bettis and Mary Lynn Guthrie. Angela also has a twin brother named Joseph Edward "Joe" Bettis.
In April 2001, she married Kevin Gerard Ford, who is a director and filmmaker. They later divorced. Together, they started a film production company called Mo-Freek Productions in 2001.
