Anhayla Rene Stanley (born May 24, 1988), known by her stage name Anhayla (pronounced ahn-HAY-lah), is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She became well-known for singing popular R&B and hip hop songs on her YouTube channel, Anhaylarene. In 2013, she was supported by Crafter guitars, a company that makes musical instruments.
Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Anhayla was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She started singing when she was just 5 years old. As a middle school student, she began writing her own music on the piano. Anhayla shares that her mother was a big musical inspiration for her. Later, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where she studied accounting.
Anhayla's Music Career
In 2010, Anhayla took part in a special online project called We Are the World 25 for Haiti (YouTube edition). This project brought together many YouTube artists to sing for a good cause. In 2013, Anhayla released her first album, which was called If I Was.
Anhayla made her first appearance on national television in 2015. She sang her song Spaceship in an AT&T commercial.
In 2016, Anhayla spoke in an interview with NPR. She shared how she has worked to overcome challenges and build her self-confidence. This led her to create an event called Girls Nite Out. This event happens every year and helps girls aged 5 to 18 feel good about themselves and be positive.
