Meet the Band Members
- Avey Tare (David Portner): He sings, plays guitar, uses samples, plays keyboards, and percussion. His stage name, Avey Tare, comes from how he "tore" apart his first name, David.
- Deakin (Josh Dibb): He plays synthesizer, guitar, and sings. His name comes from letters he used to write to other band members. He has used different spellings of his name on albums. He took a break from touring in 2007 but started solo tours in 2010.
- Geologist (Brian Weitz): He handles electronics, samples, and vocals. He got his nickname because he wears a headlamp during live shows to see his equipment. Someone once thought he studied geology, but he actually studied marine biology.
- Panda Bear (Noah Lennox): He sings, plays percussion, uses samples, and plays guitar. His stage name comes from a panda he drew on the first songs he ever wrote.
