Anita Erskine (born Vered - Marian Anita Erskine on 3 December 1978) is a Ghanaian media expert and businesswoman. She is a well-known broadcaster, talk show host, and champion for a better world. Anita speaks both English and French. She is also an actress and works to support girls' education.
Anita is the main producer and host of Anita Erskine’s Sheroes. This show can be watched on her YouTube channel, the Anita Erskine Network. It also airs on Akwaaba Magic on DSTV. She is also the official host and an advisor for Africa’s Business Heroes. This program helps entrepreneurs in Africa and is supported by the Jack Ma Foundation.
Early life and education
Anita Erskine was born in Jerusalem, Israel. Her father was Lieutenant General Emmanuel Erskine, a Ghanaian soldier. Her mother is Rose Anastasia Erskine. Anita grew up in Ghana. In her late teenage years, she moved to Canada.
She went to Christ the King International School for her primary education. For secondary school, she attended Ghana International School. Anita has a Master's degree in Communications Management from McMaster University in Canada. She also has a bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies from Trent University, also in Canada.
Career
Anita's first time on Ghanaian TV was in 1998. She hosted a show called Bold and Beautiful Omnibus Talk Show on Metro TV. In Canada, she worked as an assistant and then hosted a radio show at FLOW 93.5 in Toronto.
In 2006, she became the host of TV3's Mentor. The next year, in 2007, she became the Ghanaian reporter for MNET's Studio 53. In 2009, while on maternity leave, she started working at Viasat 1 in Ghana. There, she was the main producer for the station's own programs.
After leaving Viasat 1, she hosted other shows. These included Pamper Your Mum, Cooking With, and Making of a Mogul.
Between 2007 and early 2009, Anita worked in corporate communications for Tigo. She had roles in Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
She returned to Viasat 1 in 2014 to host "The One Show". At the same time, she also hosted "+233 Discovery". This show was created by Impact Ed International.
In 2015, she became a co-host for Starr FM's "Starr Drive" in Accra. She hosted it first with Bola Ray and then with Giovanni Caleb. She left the group in November 2017. She wanted to focus on her projects that help people and her own communications company.
In June 2016, Anita started her own communications company. It is called Erskine Global Communications. She also created a part of it called Bosslady Productions.
Since 2020, she has worked as a communications expert. She helps raise awareness about important global issues like sustainable development. She does this by speaking at events and hosting conferences. She has hosted many important meetings and award ceremonies.
Her notable appearances include the Mjadala Afrika Leadership Debate 2024. She also hosted the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Business Forum in Kigali. Other events include the Qatar Africa Business Forum in Marrakech and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development Business Forum in Lomé. She also hosted the Global Financing Facility at UNGA 79 in New York. She has hosted the Afreximbank Group Annual Meetings and the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum in Nassau.
