Anna-Clara Beatrice Tidholm (born Tjerneld on January 7, 1946) is a famous Swedish writer and illustrator. She creates wonderful books for children. Anna-Clara was born in Stockholm, Sweden.
She grew up in a beautiful area of Stockholm called Djurgården. Since 1970, she has lived on a small farm in a place called Arbrå. Living in the countryside might give her lots of ideas for her stories and drawings!

Anna-Clara Tidholm has won many important awards for her books. These awards show how much people love her stories and illustrations. They are a big honor for writers and artists.
Awards for Her Whole Collection
- The Elsa Beskow Plaque in 1986 was given to her for all the books she had created up to that time. It's like a lifetime achievement award for children's book artists.
- She received the Expressens Heffaklump in 1987. This is another special award for children's literature in Sweden.
- In 1997, Anna-Clara won the Astrid Lindgren Prize. This award is named after the very famous Swedish author, Astrid Lindgren, who wrote Pippi Longstocking. It's a huge honor for children's writers.
- The Countryside's Writer's Scholarship in 1998 recognized her connection to rural life.
- She also won the ABF's Literature Prize in 2001.
Awards for Specific Books
- In 1992, she won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in Germany. This award was for her book Resan till Ugri La Brek. It means "The Journey to Ugri La Brek".
- The Wettergren's Children's Book Column award came in 1993.
- Her book Adjö, herr Muffin (which means "Goodbye, Mr. Muffin") won the prestigious August Prize in 2002. This is one of Sweden's most important literary awards.
