About Anne-Marie Miéville
Anne-Marie Miéville was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1945. She was a photographer when she first met the famous filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard in Paris in 1970. They became partners and later married.
From 1973 to 1994, Anne-Marie worked very closely with Godard on many of his film projects. She helped with different parts of making movies, like taking photos, writing scripts, and editing the films. She even helped direct some parts and was in charge of the artistic look for certain projects.
In 1983, Anne-Marie made her very first short film called How Can I Love. Just one year later, she made another short film, The Book of Mary (Le livre de Marie). This film was so good that it was included on the DVD of Godard's movie Hail Mary (1985).
Her Creative Work
In 2002, Anne-Marie Miéville wrote a book of short writings called Images en parole. The publisher, Léo Scheer, described her writings as being like "filming with words." He said they were not exactly novels, but more like capturing special moments and feelings that are hard to describe, almost like pictures made of words.
Besides her writing, Anne-Marie Miéville has worked on many films as a director, screenwriter, and editor.
