Anne Mee, born Anne Foldsone (1765–1851), was a very talented English artist. She was known for painting tiny, detailed portraits called miniatures. She created many beautiful artworks in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

About Anne Mee's Life

Anne was the oldest child of John Foldsone. She went to Madame Pomier's school in London. Anne started painting when she was just 12 years old. She even got lessons from a famous painter named George Romney.

After her father passed away in 1784, Anne used her painting skills to help support her family. This shows how important her art was. She sometimes showed her paintings at the Royal Academy in London between 1815 and 1837. Anne Mee died in Hammersmith on May 28, 1851.

Some of her portraits were even turned into prints for popular magazines. These included Court Magazine and La Belle Assemblée.

In 1812, Anne Mee planned to publish a series of her paintings. It was called Gallery of Beauties of the Court of George III. It was meant to show off her best portraits. However, only one part of this series was ever released.
