Annette Vande Gorne was born in Charleroi, Belgium. She started her music studies in cities like Mons and Brussels. She also learned from a private teacher named Jean Absil.
Later, she discovered a new type of music called acousmatic music. This music was created by Pierre Schaeffer. She became very interested in the music of Schaeffer and other composers like François Bayle and Pierre Henry.
To learn more about this music, Annette Vande Gorne moved to Paris. There, she studied at a special music school with Schaeffer and another teacher named Reibel.
When she returned to Belgium, she started a group called the "Association of Musics and Research." She also opened her own music studio, which she named "Métamorphoses d'Orphée." In 1984, she began a series of concerts and a festival in Brussels. This festival, called L'Espace du son, focuses on acousmatic music. Since 1986, she has also taught music in cities like Liège, Brussels, and Mons.
