History of the Church
The Church of the Annunciation was officially opened on March 27, 1958. A bishop named Rt Revd Stretton Reeve, who was the Bishop of Lichfield, dedicated the church. This means he officially set it aside for religious use.
What Makes the Building Special?
The church building was designed to be used for two main purposes. One end has a special area called a sanctuary. This is where religious services take place. The other end has a stage. Both the sanctuary and the stage can be closed off with curtains. This design allows the space to be flexible for different activities.
Who Leads the Church?
The church is led by a vicar. A vicar is a priest who is in charge of a church and its community.
