About Anouk Ricard
Early Life and Education
Anouk Ricard was born in a town called Istres, France. She loved art from a young age. She studied art for two years at a special school in Aix-en-Provence. Later, she earned a diploma in illustration from another art school in Strasbourg. These schools helped her develop her unique artistic style.
Starting Her Career
After finishing her studies, Anouk moved to Marseille. There, she started creating animated films. She also worked for publishers who made books for young people. This was where she began to create her very first books. Her early work helped her gain experience in storytelling and drawing.
Becoming a Comic Artist
Anouk later moved back to Strasbourg. This is where she truly began to focus on creating graphic novels. Graphic novels are like long comic books that tell a complete story.
One of her most famous series is Anna et Froga. She started this series in 2004 for a magazine called Capsule Comique. This series became very popular with readers.
Awards and Recognition
Anouk Ricard's work has been recognized with many awards. Her comics were chosen three times for awards at the important Angoulême International Comics Festival. This festival is one of the biggest comic events in the world. In 2025, she won the prestigious Grand Prix. This is a huge honor for a comic artist.
She also created other comic series. These include Commissaire Toumi, which was for older readers. In 2009, she started a comic strip series called Galaxie chérie with Hugo Piette for Spirou magazine.
