Anthony Le Tallec (born on October 3, 1984) is a former French professional footballer. He played as a forward or an attacking midfielder. Some of the clubs he played for include Liverpool, Sochaux, and Annecy FC.

Playing for Clubs
Anthony Le Tallec started his football journey in France. He later moved to play for big clubs in different countries.
Time at Liverpool
Anthony Le Tallec was born in Hennebont, France. In 2001, he was signed by Liverpool from Le Havre AC. His cousin, Florent Sinama Pongolle, also joined Liverpool at the same time. This happened after they both played very well for the French youth team.
They both shined in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Anthony even won the 'Silver Ball' award as the second-best player. France won that tournament. After signing with Liverpool, both players stayed at Le Havre for two more years on loan.
Anthony made his first appearance for Liverpool in a league match against Blackburn Rovers. He scored his only goal for Liverpool in October 2003. This goal was during a UEFA Cup game against NK Olimpija Ljubljana.
He was also part of the Liverpool team that won the UEFA Champions League in the 2004–05 season. He started in a quarter-final match against Juventus FC. However, he was not in the squad for the final game.
Loan to Sunderland
For the 2005–06 season, Anthony joined Sunderland on loan. He wanted to play more first-team games. He said he wanted to play every week, which was hard at Liverpool.
Sunderland had a tough season and finished last in the league. But Anthony was their top scorer with five goals. He scored on his first game for Sunderland against Manchester City. He also scored a header against Fulham, helping Sunderland get their only home win that season.
In May 2006, Anthony went back to Liverpool. He then joined the French under-21s for the European Championship in Portugal.
Playing Back in France
In August 2006, Anthony moved to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on another loan. He helped Sochaux win the Coupe de France. He scored a very important goal late in the final game. This led to a penalty shootout against Olympique de Marseille.
On August 31, 2007, Anthony moved to Ligue 1 team Le Mans Union Club 72. This was a loan deal for the whole season.
In July 2008, Le Mans made his move permanent. Anthony signed a four-year contract with them. On June 27, 2010, after Le Mans was moved down a league, he joined AJ Auxerre. He signed a four-year deal with them.
Time in Greece and Romania
On July 19, 2015, Anthony Le Tallec signed a two-year contract with Atromitos F.C. in Greece. He said he joined them because he wanted to play in the UEFA Europa League.
On July 3, 2017, Anthony, who was 32 years old, joined FC Astra Giurgiu in Romania. He returned to France in the next transfer period. He joined Ligue 2 team US Orléans.
Final Years of Playing
In September 2019, Anthony Le Tallec signed with Annecy FC. He played his last professional football game in May 2021. He had a career that lasted twenty years.
Personal Life
Anthony Le Tallec has a younger brother named Damien. Damien is also a professional footballer. He also started his career at Le Havre and later played for Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
In June 2023, Anthony Le Tallec was a witness to an event in an Annecy park. Several children and an adult were injured during this incident.
