Political Career
Anthony Millar began his political journey in 1958. He was elected as a Teachta Dála (TD). A TD is a representative in Dáil Éireann, the main house of the Irish parliament.
First Election
Millar first became a TD in a special election called a by-election. This election happened in May 1958. He represented the Galway South area. The by-election was held because his uncle, Patrick Beegan, who was also a Fianna Fáil TD, had passed away.
