Anthony Peterson (born March 16, 1985) is a professional boxer from the United States. He is known for his strong fighting style. Anthony is also the younger brother of another famous boxer, Lamont Peterson.

Early Boxing Days

Anthony Peterson had a great start in his boxing career as an amateur. He won the 2003 National Golden Gloves Lightweight Championship. This was a big achievement for him.

In 2004, he faced Vicente Escobedo twice. He lost both matches, which meant he couldn't compete in the Olympic Games that year. Anthony and his brother Lamont also won the Junior Olympic National Tournament when they were younger.

Professional Career Highlights

Peterson became a professional boxer in 2004. He has won many of his fights, with a good number of them ending in a knockout.

On June 26, 2008, Anthony fought Fernando Trejo. Peterson won this fight by a unanimous decision from the judges. This victory earned him the interim lightweight title from the NABF.

On September 11, 2010, Peterson had a big fight against Brandon Rios. This match was important because it was a step towards a major championship title. Peterson lost the fight in the 7th round due to a rule violation.

On December 10, 2011, Peterson won against Daniel Attah. This fight took place in Washington, D.C., on the same night his brother Lamont also fought. Anthony won by a unanimous decision.

Later, on May 18, 2013, Peterson fought Dominic Salcido. He won this match by TKO (Technical Knockout) in the second round. This means the referee stopped the fight because Salcido could not continue safely.
