Early Days as an Amateur Boxer
Anthony Peterson had a fantastic start in boxing as an amateur. In 2003, he won a big competition called the National Golden Gloves Lightweight Championship. This is a very important title for young boxers in the United States.
He and his brother Lamont also won the Junior Olympic National Tournament. This shows they were both very talented from a young age. In 2004, Anthony faced Vicente Escobedo twice and lost, which meant he couldn't go to the Olympic Games that year.
