Antonelli Bros Ltd is a company that makes yummy ice cream cones and wafers! They are based in Eccles, Greater Manchester, in the United Kingdom.

How Antonelli Bros Started

The person who started the company was Domenico Antonelli. He was born in a place called Picinisco in Italy. After moving to the UK, he began making ice cream cones and wafers in 1912.

Domenico worked with his sons, Ernest, Luigi, and Romolo. Their first company was called The International Wafer Company. They had factories in Salford and Old Trafford.

Growing the Business

In 1924, the company started to make more biscuits. Because of this, they changed their name to "International Biscuit Co. Ltd".

During World War II, it was hard to make wafers. So, the company used their biscuit ovens to make special food for soldiers. This food was called 'Iron rations'.

After the war, the company grew a lot! In 1961, Romolo's sons, Ernest, Roland, and Victor, opened a new bakery in Eccles. This bakery focused on making biscuits especially for ice cream shops.

The Family Continues

Later, Ernest and Victor retired. Roland took over the business. In the early 1990s, Roland's sons, Mark and David, joined the company. Today, Mark and David still run the business, and Roland is the chairman.
