Antoni Dobrowolski (born October 8, 1904 – died October 21, 2012) was a Polish teacher and educator. He was also a survivor of the Holocaust. When he passed away in 2012, Antoni Dobrowolski was known as the oldest survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Early Life
Antoni Dobrowolski was born in a town called Wolbórz in Poland. This was on October 8, 1904.
Secret Teaching During World War II
During World War II, Poland was taken over by Nazi Germany. The Nazi government tried to stop Polish children from getting a good education. They only allowed four years of schooling for Polish children. This was done to weaken Polish culture.
But Antoni Dobrowolski was very brave. He joined a group called the Secret Teaching Organization. This group secretly taught students in Poland. They did this even though it was against the rules.
In June 1942, the Gestapo (the Nazi secret police) found out about his secret teaching. They arrested him.
Imprisonment in Concentration Camps
After his arrest, Antoni Dobrowolski was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. This was a very harsh prison camp. He was given the prisoner number 38081.
He later said that being in Auschwitz was an extremely difficult experience. He was then moved to two other concentration camps. These were the Gross-Rosen concentration camp and the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. He remained a prisoner until he was set free in 1945.
Life After the War
After World War II ended and he was freed, Antoni Dobrowolski moved to Dębno, Poland. He continued his work as a teacher. First, he taught in an elementary school. Later, he became the director of a high school.
Death
Antoni Dobrowolski passed away on October 21, 2012. He was in Dębno, Poland, and was 108 years old. At the time of his death, he was known as the oldest survivor of the Auschwitz camp.
