Antonio Gallego Burgos (born 2 October 1975) is a Spanish politician. He has held important roles in the government of Spain. He was a member of the Congress of Deputies from 2008 to 2015. The Congress of Deputies is like the main parliament of Spain, where laws are made for the whole country.
Later, he became a member of the Parliament of Catalonia in 2021. The Parliament of Catalonia makes laws for the region of Catalonia in Spain. He first joined the People's Party, then Vox, and since 2022, he has been an independent member of the Catalan Parliament. This means he is not part of a specific political group there.

Antonio Gallego Burgos was born in Barcelona, Spain. His family is from Catalonia, a region in Spain with its own language and culture. He went to the University of Barcelona where he studied economics.
Start in Politics
Mr. Gallego Burgos began his political journey with a Catalan nationalist group called Convergència i Unió. Later, he joined the People's Party of Catalonia. He became a spokesperson for this party in the area of El Prat de Llobregat. In this area, he was also elected as a councilor. A councilor is a person who helps manage a local town or city.
Serving in the Spanish Parliament
In 2008, Antonio Gallego Burgos was elected to the Congress of Deputies. He represented the Barcelona area. He was re-elected in 2011, continuing his work in the national parliament. In 2015, he decided to leave the Congress to run for a seat in the Parliament of Catalonia. He won a seat but resigned just six months later.
Return to Catalan Politics
In 2021, Mr. Gallego Burgos announced that he had joined the Vox party. He was then elected again to the Catalan Parliament, representing the Barcelona district. In 2022, he left the Vox party. He continued to serve in the Parliament as an independent member, meaning he was not officially part of any political group.
