Antonio Juan García-Santesmases Martín-Tesorero (born in 1954) is a Spanish expert in political ideas and a politician. He has worked as a university professor and served in the Spanish parliament.

Early Life and Education
Antonio García-Santesmases was born in 1954 in Madrid, the capital city of Spain. He came from a well-known family. For his early schooling, he attended the Colegio de Nuestra Señora del Recuerdo.
He went on to study at university, focusing on Philosophy and Arts. He finished his university studies in 1975.
Becoming a Professor and Politician
After university, Antonio García-Santesmases started working as a high school teacher in 1979. While teaching, he also worked on his advanced degree, called a PhD. His PhD paper was about "Marxism and State," and he finished it in 1983.
He became very active in a political group called Izquierda Socialista, which was part of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The PSOE is one of the main political parties in Spain. He was an important member of the PSOE's Federal Committee from 1984 to 1997.
Serving in Parliament
In 1996, Antonio García-Santesmases decided to run for a seat in the Spanish parliament. He was on the PSOE's list for the Madrid area in the 1996 Spanish general election. He was successfully elected as a legislator.
He served as a member of the Congress of Deputies, which is like the House of Representatives in some other countries. His time in parliament lasted from March 26, 1996, until January 18, 2000.
Later, he became a professor of Political philosophy at the National University of Distance Education (UNED). This university allows students to study from anywhere, often online.
