Antonio García Reinoso (born 1623, died 1677) was a talented Spanish painter. He was born in a city called Granada. Antonio learned how to paint from a famous artist named Sebastián Martínez Domedel in Jaén.

Antonio was known for painting beautiful landscapes and historical scenes. Many of his artworks were mentioned by the writer Antonio Palomino. One important painting is an altarpiece in the church of the Capuchins in Andújar. This painting shows the Trinity with several Saints. You can also find some of his pictures in churches and private collections in Córdoba, where he passed away.

Today, the exhibition hall at the Teatro el jardinito de Cabra is named after him.

His Amazing Artworks

Antonio García Reinoso created many important paintings and drawings during his life. Here are some of his well-known works:

  • Immaculate Conception: This is a large oil painting (173 x 115 cm) that you can see at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Córdoba.
  • Project for a Retable: In 1663, he made a drawing for a special decorative screen called a retable. This drawing is now kept at the Museum of Fine Arts of Córdoba.
  • Series of Saint Ferdinand the Holy: Around 1675–76, Antonio painted four panels about King Ferdinand III. These paintings are displayed at the Córdoba Cathedral.
