Life and Music Journey

Antonio Orozco was born on November 23, 1972. He grew up in Barcelona, Spain, in an ordinary family. His parents were from Sevilla. He spent his childhood in Viladecans.

When he was 15, he bought his first guitar. He started writing his own songs. On a trip to Triana, Sevilla, he discovered flamenco music. This type of music changed his life. His family had roots in the region and its music.

His family later moved to Osuna, a town in Sevilla. This town was known for its lively music scene. Antonio began playing flamenco guitar. He would play along with singers as a hobby. Soon, his talent for writing songs became clear. He started performing music professionally.

Antonio played in bars and train stations. There, he met pianist and producer Xavi Pérez. Xavi encouraged him to record his own music.

In the year 2000, Antonio released his first solo album. It was called Un Reloj y una Vela. Xavi Pérez and Tato Latorre produced it. This album sold over 100,000 copies, which was a great start!

His next album, Semilla de Silencio, came out in 2001. It was also produced by Pérez and Latorre. This album sold three times as many copies as the first one. In 2004, his third album, El Principio del Comienzo, also did very well. His success led him to perform in the U.S. and all over Latin America.

In 2005, he released an album called Antonio Orozco. This album was a collection of his best twelve songs. It helped him become famous outside of Spain, especially in Latin America. Some of his well-known songs include "Te Esperaré" and "Déjame."

Also in 2005, Antonio toured with the famous singer Juanes. This tour was in the Americas. It led to his live concert DVD, Antonio Orozco—Tour Edition. In 2006, his album Cadizfornia made it onto a popular music chart in Europe.
