Apango is a town located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It is the main town, also known as the "municipal seat," for the area called Mártir de Cuilapán. Apango is about 35 kilometers (around 22 miles) away from Chilpancingo, which is the capital city of Guerrero.
Near Apango, you can find the ruins of an old temple. This temple is special because it's the only remaining evidence of an ancient group of people called the Coixcas.
How Many People Live in Apango?
In 2005, a study was done to count the people living in Apango. This study, carried out by the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Data Processing, found that 3,987 people called Apango home. Out of these, 1,870 were male and 2,111 were female.
