Carlos "Apdaly" Lopez, born on December 2, 1994, is a cool off-road racing driver from Tecate, Mexico. He's known for driving powerful trucks over tough terrain. Apdaly won a gold medal at the X Games in 2014, which is a huge achievement in extreme sports! His dad, Juan Carlos Lopez, is also a famous off-road racer, so racing runs in the family.

Apdaly Lopez's Racing Journey
Starting Out in Off-Road Racing
Apdaly began his racing career in 2011. He made his first big appearance at the Baja 250 race. This was part of the SCORE International championship. He didn't just race; he won his first event! Apdaly won the ATVPRO 25 class. He raced with his co-drivers, Ivan Mejorado and Gilberto Perez. They drove a Honda TRX450, which is a type of ATV.
Racing in Stadium Super Trucks
In 2013, Apdaly joined a new racing series called Stadium Super Trucks. This series features powerful trucks racing on special tracks, often inside stadiums. He competed in the Super Buggy championship first. Apdaly quickly showed his talent by winning two races at Qualcomm Stadium. He also raced in the main Stadium Super Trucks series. He finished fourth in a race in St. Louis. In Costa Mesa, he earned two third-place finishes.
Winning Gold at the X Games
The year 2014 was a big one for Apdaly. He raced in the San Felipe 250 with Clyde Stacy. They finished sixth in their class. Apdaly also raced full-time in the Stadium Super Trucks series. He had a great start to the season. He even won a race at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
A major highlight was the X Games Austin 2014. This was the first time Stadium Super Trucks were part of the X Games. Apdaly was amazing! He won his heat race. Then, he went on to win the final race. This victory earned him his first X Games gold medal. Throughout 2014, Apdaly had nine top-three finishes. He ended the season in third place overall in the championship.
Later Seasons and Challenges
Apdaly tried to qualify for the X Games Austin 2015 final, but he didn't make it. He took a break from the Stadium Super Trucks series. He returned in 2016 for the Pike’s Peak Hill Climb Challenge. In 2017, he raced again at the Lake Elsinore Diamond. He won the first race there. However, he had to stop the second race after his truck flipped.
In 2018, Apdaly started the season strong. He shared a victory with Bill Hynes at the Lake Elsinore Diamond. This happened because of some confusion during the race.

Apdaly Lopez also focused on his education. He studied engineering at Cetys Universidad. This university is located in Tijuana, Mexico.
