Apex, Missouri facts for kids
Apex is a small, unincorporated community located in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
The Story of Apex
Apex began its history as a station along the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad. This railroad was very important for travel and moving goods across the country.
A post office was opened in Apex in 1880. This allowed people living in the area to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1941.
In 1925, Apex was a very small place, with only 28 people living there. Today, not much is left of the original community that once existed.
