How Apolonia Started

Apolonia began as a community mainly settled by Polish families who were Roman Catholic. They named their new home after Saint Apollonia, a Christian saint. This shows how important their faith and heritage were to the people who first lived there.

Apolonia's Post Office

Like many small communities, Apolonia once had its own post office. It was opened in 1889, which means people could send and receive letters and packages right there in their community. The post office stayed open for about 18 years, closing down in 1907. This was a common pattern for many small towns as transportation and communication changed over time.
