Pago de Arínzano is a special place in Spain where unique wines are made. It is not just a regular wine region. It has a special title called "Vino de Pago." This title is given to individual vineyards or estates that produce very high-quality wines. It is different from a "Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP)," which covers a whole wine area.

Pago de Arínzano: A Special Spanish Wine Estate

Pago de Arínzano is a famous wine estate in Spain. It is known for its special "Vino de Pago" classification. This means it is recognized for making excellent wines from its own vineyards. This special title is given to only a few places in Spain.

What Makes Pago de Arínzano Special?

The "Vino de Pago" title is a high honor for a wine estate. It means the wines made here are very unique and high quality. This is because the grapes come from a single, specific vineyard. Other wine titles, like "Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP)," cover much larger areas.

Where is Pago de Arínzano Located?

This special estate is found in a town called Aberin. Aberin is in the Navarre region of Spain. Even though it has its own special title, Pago de Arínzano is also inside the larger Navarra DOP wine region. The estate covers about 300 hectares (about 740 acres) of land.

A Brief History of the Estate

The Chivite family bought the Pago de Arínzano estate in 1988. They operated it as Bodegas Chivite for many years. In 2015, the estate was sold to a big international company called SPI Group. They continue to produce wines there.
