About Arcadi Volodos

Arcadi Volodos was born in Leningrad, Russia, in 1972. His parents were singers, so he first studied singing. Later, he learned to be a conductor, which is someone who leads an orchestra. He went to music schools in Saint Petersburg for this.

Even though he started playing the piano when he was eight, he didn't focus on it seriously until 1987. He then studied piano at the Moscow Conservatory Music College. He also studied in Paris and Madrid with famous piano teachers like Dmitri Bashkirov and Galina Eguiazarova. Today, he is a French citizen and lives in Spain with his family.

His Amazing Talent

Even though he didn't study piano for a very long time, Arcadi Volodos quickly became one of the world's top pianists. Thomas Frost, who produced many recordings for another famous pianist named Vladimir Horowitz, also produced Volodos's recordings. Frost said that Volodos "has everything." He meant that Volodos has great imagination, can create many different sounds, plays with strong feelings, and has incredible skill to make his musical ideas happen.
