Argentville is a small, quiet place in Lincoln County, Missouri, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Argentville
Argentville got its start a long time ago. In 1879, a special building called a post office was opened there. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office helped the people living in Argentville stay connected to the rest of the world. It stayed open for many years, until 1907.
The name "Argentville" comes from an early settler named Raleigh Argent. A settler is someone who moves to a new area to live and build a community.
In 1925, not too many people lived in Argentville. Records show there were only 32 people living there at that time.
