The Argyle Building is a tall apartment building in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland. It was built between 2005 and 2008. This building is one of the tallest in central Glasgow. You can easily spot it near the Kingston Bridge and the M8 motorway. Sometimes, you might even see it in the background of BBC Scotland news shows!

Why Was It Built?

The Argyle Building was part of a big plan to make the Anderston area of Glasgow better. This area had some older buildings, like the Anderston Centre, that needed a refresh.

Making Anderston Modern

The goal was to bring new life to Anderston. The Argyle Building helped encourage young people working in Glasgow's financial area to live nearby too. This project was part of a larger effort to improve the city centre.

Building Design

The Argyle Building has a modern look. Its design was made to fit in with the nearby tower blocks of the Anderston Centre. It even has offices on its lower four floors, called Cuprum, which connect to the building.
