Ariana Washington is an American track and field athlete. She is a fast runner, known as a sprinter. Ariana specializes in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. She ran for the United States in the 4 × 100 meter relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She also won a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships as part of the relay team.

Early Life and High School Success

Ariana Washington was born on August 27, 1996. Her hometown is Signal Hill, California. She went to Long Beach Poly High School. There, she was a star in track and field.

Winning Penn Relays

When Ariana was a sophomore, her team, the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, won the famous Penn Relays. This is a big track and field event.

State Champion Runner

Ariana was a top runner in high school. She won state titles for both the 100-meter and 200-meter races. She achieved this amazing feat in her sophomore, junior, and senior years.

College Athletics Achievements

Ariana continued her running career at the University of Oregon. She quickly made a name for herself.

In her first year at the University of Oregon, Ariana won two major titles. She became the NCAA champion for both the 100 meters and 200 meters. She was the first freshman ever to win both of these titles.

Ariana Washington met fellow Olympian Clayton Murphy at the 2016 Summer Olympics. They met while playing a game of Uno in the Athletes Lounge.

Marriage and Family

Ariana and Clayton got engaged in 2018. They were married on December 7, 2019. Their wedding took place in the beautiful Napa Valley.
