Ariel Miguel Santiago Ibagaza, born on October 27, 1976, is a football manager and a former professional football player from Argentina. People often called him El Caño. He usually played as an attacking midfielder, which means he helped create scoring chances for his team. Ariel was famous for his amazing ball control and his ability to see the whole field. He played most of his career in Spain, especially for RCD Mallorca. He played 343 games in La Liga, Spain's top football league, and scored 33 goals over 12 seasons.

Ariel's Playing Career
Early Years in Argentina and Spain

Ariel Ibagaza was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his professional football journey with a club called Club Atlético Lanús. In July 1998, he moved to Spain to play for RCD Mallorca.
In his first year with Mallorca, the team finished third in the league. This was a great achievement, and they almost made it into the UEFA Champions League, which is a big competition for top European clubs.
Success with Mallorca and Atlético Madrid
During the 2000–01 season, Ibagaza had his best year for scoring goals, getting ten for Mallorca. He was a key player and even became the team captain. He stayed with Mallorca until July 2003, when he moved to Atlético Madrid.
After a few years, in 2006, he returned to Mallorca. In his second season back, he was one of the top players for making assists, which means he helped his teammates score many goals.
Time with Villarreal and Olympiacos
In July 2008, Ibagaza signed a deal to play for Villarreal CF. He played for two seasons there. Even though he had some small injuries, he still played in over 60 official games for the team.
When he was 34, in 2010, he moved to Greece to join Olympiacos F.C.. He signed a two-year contract with them. He scored his first goal for Olympiacos in a game against Asteras Tripoli FC, helping his team win 1–0.
He played 24 matches in his first season with Olympiacos, and his team won the national championship. He left Olympiacos in June 2014 after playing 97 games and winning three more league titles. After that, he played for Panionios FC for one year.
Ariel's Managerial Career
After finishing his playing career, Ariel Ibagaza became a football manager. He managed the Olympiacos B team during the 2021–22 season in the Super League Greece 2. He also served as an assistant manager for Olympiacos's main team and their U20 team.
